Before the Dock is a preliminary used-boat review service. Submitting a request asks us to confirm service availability; it does not book an inspection or authorize a charge.

Who operates this service

Before the Dock is owned and operated by Captain Kit Carson, owner/operator of DirtyBoat Charters at Robbie’s Marina in Islamorada. Contact kit@dirtyboat.com.

Your information

We store the contact details, listing information, notes, and media links you provide, along with your request’s status and report. These are used to assess your request, coordinate the agreed service, and provide your review.

Authorized review staff can access your submission. An assigned specialist may receive information needed for your review. Do not submit payment card details, identity documents, or unredacted ownership documents through this form.

Service emails

We use DirtyBoat’s Twilio SendGrid account to send request confirmations and review notifications. Captain Kit receives new requests and buyer updates at kit@dirtyboat.com. Replies go directly to Kit. These are service messages, not newsletter subscriptions. Email open and click tracking are disabled.

Your private link

Your review link gives access to your status and published report. Treat it as private. Contact details and internal reviewer notes are not shown on that page. We email your private link and review updates through Twilio SendGrid. Save the link when you submit as well.

Storage and choices

Requests are stored on the service’s server until removed by the operator. We do not sell submitted information. Google Analytics 4 measures visits to public pages and completed requests on beforethedock.com. It may set analytics cookies. We do not send your name, email, listing URL, private review link, or report content to analytics. Advertising personalization and Google Signals are disabled. The review desk uses a necessary sign-in cookie. To request correction or deletion, ask Captain Kit Carson at kit@dirtyboat.com, quoting your review reference.

Scope and payment

A listing review is limited to information supplied and available references. It is not a marine survey, title verification, appraisal, insurance decision, or guarantee of condition or safety. Physical inspection and appropriate testing remain separate. The advertised pilot price is a proposal; scope, final price, payment terms, and timing must be confirmed before paid work starts.

Specialist referrals

Mechanical inspections and surveys are separately agreed with the relevant provider. Displaying a specialist’s business does not guarantee their participation, schedule, or acceptance of a particular request.
